Whitney Houston’s hit song “I Will Always Love You” is one of those songs that everybody knows. But what not a lot of people know about it is that it was actually written by famous Dolly Parton back in 1973. Whitney was the one who made the song legendary, and it’s her original interpretation that everybody remembers.
Still, that doesn’t mean that there have not been multiple renditions of the song. I Will Always Love You is probably one of the most covered songs of all time. Sure, not all renditions can live up to the greatness of the original version, but some of them come pretty close.
The performance you are just about to watch in the video below by Il Divo surely belongs to the latter category.
For those of you who don’t already know this, Il Divo is a multi-national classical crossover vocal group formed in 2003, in the United Kingdom. The group’s specialty is classical music, but they’ve proven that they can tackle other genres of music as well, and still sound brilliantly good.
They’ve definitely managed to do the original song justice, and I think it’s safe to say most Whitney fans would approve of this!
