No one should leave this world alone. Everyone should have the right to a proper funeral with people there to honor their lives and think about their souls. Everyone deserves this – especially those who have put their own lives on the line to protect those of others.
Sadly, though, that doesn’t always happen. According to recent statistics, there are over 50,000 homeless veterans living in the U.S alone, and many of those men and women don’t get to leave this world as a veteran deserves.
When they die and nobody comes to claim their bodies at the morgue, there’s no service, no burial flags and no military personnel to pay their respects.
And it’s just not right. Luckily, there are organizations like the one shown in the video below that make sure that as many homeless veterans as possible are honored as they should when they pass away.
