A regular walk led a couple from Northern California to discovering a fortune – and now the details of their incredibly lucky find are going viral.
The two were out walking the dog near their home as they do every single day when they noticed something strange on the ground; something rusty was sticking out from the dirt. Sure, most people wouldn’t have given it a second look and just assume it was garbage.
But because they had some free time on their hands, they decided to investigate the situation further.
And that was definitely the right choice, because the couple ended up digging no less than eight rusty cans that turned out to be full of rare, solid gold coins that dated back to California’s Gold Rush days in the 1800s. Needless to say, the coins are worth a fortune. In fact, they were estimated at $10 million.
And in addition to their financial value, the coins also have tremendous historic value.
