Chu Cong, a Chinese tourist, left monks angry after he tried to donate his phone during a visit to a Buddhist temple.
Chu was in the middle of his visit when he was presented with a collection box. But rather than hand over a small amount of change, the man gave away his brand new iPhone. A monk saw the whole incident and gave him back the phone by saying that monks ‘don’t have smartphones or know how to use them’. Apparently, they only accept donations in the form of money to be used for the maintenance projects.
