Ross Russell had never built a house before. But when he and his wife decided they wanted to retire, they looked for a place where they could entertain friends and enjoy the landscape. Ross and his friend, architect Alex De Rijke, spent a year designing his dream home. He wanted a house that is unusual and special, but the final result exceeded all his expectations. It takes about 6 minutes for the entirety of the outside of the house, including the roof, to slide back and expose the beautiful structure beneath. The whole process is fully automated and is triggered by a small switch. Wow!
