The pilot in the video below managed to safely bring down his jet without landing gear, and the Internet is impressed. US Marine Corps pilot Captain William Mahoney noticed some malfunctions shortly after takeoff. As it turned out, his front landing gear had failed. The pilot immediately turned to the officer on duty for support. Luckily, the Marine Corps keeps a piece of equipment on hand especially for this type of malfunction. It’s basically a giant stool, capable of holding the 22,000-pound fighter jet’s nose. Still, landing on a stool with no landing gear is extremely difficult, and the pilot had no room for error.
