At the age of 22, this young woman from the UK battles a rare metabolic disorder. The disease is called Trimethylaminuria, or fish odor syndrome. As the name suggests it, this condition causes certain chemicals to build up in the body before it is released in urine, sweat and even breathe which reek of rotting fish.
“You know what is like when you go to the fish market and everything stinks like rotten fish? This is how I smell. No matter how many showers I take, I can’t get rid of it,” said Cassie. The young woman has been suffering from this disease since she was 3 years old.
