Many of the creatures of the deep, poorly known by scientists, are extremely bizarre and seem drawn from science-fiction movies.Recently, a team from Nautilus Live expedition discovered a strange animal that was filmed with an underwater robot. It’s a purple Siphonophore, an extremely rare creature. His appearance is very unusual even for researchers specialized in marine biology. “Wow! It’s incredible! I can not believe that it is a living being” ,said one of the underwater robot operators. Siphonophores seem individual animals, but in fact they are colonies of thousands of small organisms called zooide, but acting as one body. Aside from his bizarre nature, this specimen’s color is unusual.
