An unusual rescue operation took place in Sidney’s middle harbor- and it was all caught on video! A whale breached next to a boat and appeared to be asking for help. One of the young fishermen on the boat noticed the whale had something over its mouth. Luckily, he managed to remove the bag and the fishing lines out of its mouth. Experts say it is extremely uncommon for a whale to come this close to shore and that it is possible the whale had previous contact with other humans and knew it could rely on them for help.
